I’m thrilled to join the department and bring my product development and production engineering perspective to our manufacturing courses, as well as wire-arc directed energy deposition (DED) to our research program. This fascinating process blends welding, 3D printing, and machining. Off campus, I love camping and exploring with my family, a tradition started by my grandfather in the 1950s with surplus WWII jeeps in the New Mexico desert. Having recently moved from a North Idaho hobby farm, where I like to say I grew rocks and raised kids, I’m excited to connect with students at BYU and invite them to join my team for some innovative research and hands-on learning. - Dr Lile Squires
